What to expect

What to expect on your visit to Dr.Sarvotham’s Acupressure Clinic

"I heard about this treatment through the net found while surfing, having a slipped disc and had lost hopes to live and tried all
kinds of treatment for almost 3years and after Dr.Sarvotham’s Acupressure treatment I am confident to ride a horse."

You are new to Acupressure treatment, and are wondering what to expect. We want you to be comfortable with your experience with us. Life has too many stresses, and one of the purposes of acupressure is to relieve the effects of those stresses.

The first thing we do is to assess your ailment and its cause. You may already have undergone other forms of treatment such as Ayurvedic, Homeopathic, Chiropractic, Osteopathic, or Medical to name a few. Apart from the findings of the initial assessment, we have designed questions to help us determine the nature of your ailment, which helps us put together a personalized acupressure therapy plan for you.

There are three phases of Acupressure care:

Initial Intensive Care

Our first goal is to make you start feeling better. So initially your office visits will be frequent and may include multiple sittings designed to relieve your immediate symptoms. While your symptoms may mostly be taken care of at this stage, it is very important to continue your care into the next phase, in order to heal completely, and to help prevent recurrence.

Rehabilitative Care

Underlying tissue dysfunction and degeneration often remain, even after your original symptoms have diminished. Rehabilitative Care stabilizes your condition and promotes greater healing. In this phase your visit frequency will be reduced. You will learn how to take care of yourself for life and how to avoid and prevent re-injury.

Preventive Care

Once you have achieved maximum therapeutic benefit, you may choose to begin a Preventive/ Maintenance care program. Occasional visits help treat problems before they become serious. These visits will be scheduled based on individual assessment.

By identifying and treating problems early on, often when the symptoms are very mild or not felt at all, serious problems can be avoided and chain-reaction types of problems can be stopped, as for example, cervical spondylitis. We have spent years learning motion palpation, the art of examining by Movement or Touch, and other forms of spinal examination. Once we have isolated the problem, we begin care by applying bare finger pressure. We pay extra attention to areas of your spine where the cause of your problem has been detected. The pressure is usually delivered by hand, and intermediately applied to the areas of the spine that are out of alignment or not functioning properly.

We use varied and sophisticated techniques. The specific procedure to be used will be explained to you following your examination.
In most circumstances, finger pressure does not hurt. You may experience some minor discomfort during the pressure which lasts only for seconds and is extremely safe. The risk factor or side effects are nil.
